Assault

“I heard you were going to Earth.” An elegant looking humanoid lioness stated its tail swishing in the afternoon heat.

“That’s the plan.” The entirely chrome-plated female person said while she was laying on her front sprawled out on a towel. A pure white beach speckled with the occasional sunbather or cluster of people engaged in fun-filled activities. Crystal blue water creating a perfect ocean that spread off into the distance and then up into the horizon and back around so that you could see it above where a sky would be planetside.

“Why ever would you want to go to Earth?” The lioness fanned itself.

“It’s supposed to be quite the sight and besides I need to finish my thesis on complex planetary ecologies and Earth is a pretty good place to do that.”

“I suppose, but I don’t see the allure of the old place… Too many bugs!” The lioness laughed and so did the Chrome female.

“Well, that’s exactly the point. As much as there is plenty to understand and learn in the various orbital reserves they do suffer from being very carefully balanced. Earth on the other hand has been allowed to run wild with minimal human intervention outside of the big cities.” The chrome woman rolled onto her back.

“I definitely don’t think I approve. Why not go to Mars, far more stable there.”

“Stable indeed, not a single thing on Mars that wasn’t constructed in a nano factory!”

“Exactly, nice and safe.”

The chrome woman tutted.

“Ajeet Yadunandan, I’m looking for an Ajeet Yadunandan” An orange beachball hovered several meters in the sky and was heading along the beach. The Chrome woman’s chrome eyes seemed to roll.

“What a nuisance, the whole point of coming here was that I couldn’t be reached. You, Orange Gas Bag, over here!”

The floating orange ball had a camera of some sort that swivled around, roatated a couple of times and then started floating in the pairs direction.

“I’d prefer it if you didnt’ refer to me as a gas bag, how would you like it if I refered to you as silver chick.”

“I wouldn’t care Lawrence, I chose this shell.”

“Well I didn’t chose this one, quick transfer at the station and not much in the way of chit allocation given the meagre allocation you give me.”

“Stop babbling, What’s the problem?”

“Ah, yes, it’s your father’s corporation master, it’s shares are under heavy co-ordinated assault and it may very well be taken over if you don’t embark on one of your major charm offensives.”
